Conservation Module Scenarios

A scenario that utilizes the Conservation Module will offer the same scenario inputs and output indicators available to UrbanSim parcel model subscribers but will compute additional Conservation Module metrics that describe the impact of development to natural and agricultural resources.

Creating a new scenario

Conservation module metrics can be computed for any UrbanSim scenario by toggling on the module on for a scenario. Metrics will be generated for the base year and simulation end year.

Conservation Module (Optional)

• To generate conservation module metrics for the UrbanSim scenario base year and simulation end year results, click this toggle to turn it on.

Conservation Priority Areas (Optional)

• Conservation priority areas are not required but conservation priority areas can be added to the conservation module metrics to obtain reporting on land-use change (natural, urban, agriculture) within the boundaries of the priority area.

Species (Optional)

• Species are not required but a species list can be added to the conservation module for customized reporting of degraded or improved habitat for individual species. If no list is uploaded, state and federally threatened and endangered species will be reported as a default.
