Clarifications and Known Issues

Clarifications

Block model only:

  • The simulation is generating block-level results. Indicators at non-block levels are aggregations from block to the coarser level geography.

  • The current “TAZ” indicator layer reflects the Census TAZ geography. Indicators generated for user uploaded TAZ geometries are displayed in the map layer as “Zones”.

  • By default, the minimum MPO boundary level is the county. Contact us here if you require a change to use a custom minimum boundary level.

  • 2010 is the default base-year, however this can be changed through a consulting contract. Contact us here.

  • For 2010 base year models, 2010 - 2015 are used for model calibration and validation.

  • Currently there is no representation of group-quarters or school enrollment in the block model.

Known Issues

This is not a exhaustive list, however if you do not see a issue you are experiencing in this list please contact us by submitting a bug report.

  • For certain classes of user interface bugs, a short-term work-around may be to refresh the page or to clear your web browser cache. When this is encountered, please file a bug report.

  • The calculation and visualization of indicators in spatial and chart form is currently in development and can be considered experimental. This feature is provided in this version as a preview.

  • If you are unable to view an entire form or the Save and Cancel buttons on a form because your screen is too small, a temporary workaround is to change your browser page zoom level settings to a coarser zoom level.

  • If you are unable to load any spatial data on the map or loading of polygons appears to hang and never load, check your browser console for errors. In some cases you may be using an out of date browser that may not support Mapbox GL:

  • If you find that you cannot view the map or it is displayed as a blank white screen, your browser or video card may not support WebGL:

    • To test to see if your browser supports WebGL go to this page to check your support for WebGL.

    • In some cases issues related to the display of the map can be resolved by updating your video card drivers or updating your web browser to the latest version.
  • For known limitations related to the UrbanSim modeling system see here. Note this is provided as an overview and is not an exhaustive list.
